Okay so our bedroom furniture was falling appart (litterally) and we have painted every room in the house except the garage and our bedroom (and I guess the closets). Seth bought a Xoom and I figured it was definitely time to invest in some decent furniture for our bedroom. Rooms to Go was having a huge sale and we took advantage of it! And for a little under $500 I was able to pick out some new bedding, paint, and decorative accents (pictures, lamps, candles, vases etc.). Seth gave me complete authority on the bedding and decor. Wow! So I definitely had fun. Was an exhausting weekend though. Don't ever want to do a room makeover in one day by myself. Here are some pictures. I'm still trying to find something to add a little more color to the curtains, other than that, I'm pretty happy with everythihng. Maybe a new ceiling fan would be good. I took some pictures of the new look. It's missing the big screen TV. That arrived a few days later (was part of the package deal - well actually the new TV is in the game/computer room and our bedroom gets the old one that was in there because it was an LCD instead of LED and generated too much heat in the computer room. Shouldn't be an issue in the bedroom).
I absolutely love our new room. Now I need to figure out which room to tackle next, lol!

It's Prom!!!!!!!!!!
Need I say more.... Our youngest daughter just learned how to crawl and now our oldest is already old enough (okay-so technically she's a year too young but is going with an older boy) to go to Prom! Yikes...how did she grow up so fast???
And believe it or not this day hasn't just been about Caitlyn. I was able to take the younger ones downtown to a bbq festival where we met Maw Maw and got the boys wristbands to go in the Inflateable obstacle course/slide thing while Seth mowed the lawn for the first time this year and Caitlyn was able to take a shower and get ready. When we came back, we dropped off the younger kids for Seth to watch and took Caitlyn with us to the salon. The lady did a beautiful job and really came up with something that looked very much like the picture that Caitlyn had picked out. When she was done with the hair and makeup we got back home with an hour to spare before it was time for Seth to take her down to her mom's where she will be picked up by her date and join a group of other friends for the prom. They plan to go to the beach to take group pictures, then go to Longhorn's for dinner and then prom. They plan to go bowling afterwards and then Seth is going to go pick her up from the bowling alley. Hopefully Seth will take some pictures of her with her jewelry on and with her date (who is just a friend - not a boyfriend, whew! :-)

Eating Grass
The weather is so nice right now! I took Amy outside earlier this weekend and put down a neat sheet and threw some toys down so that she could play but didn't have to crawl on the scratchy grass. The grass is never very soft around here, but since it hasn't really started growing yet, it is scratchier than usual and I didn't think she would like it. She ended up figuring out how to pull on the sheet to get her toys to come to her, lol! So she was soon surrounded by a bunched up sheet and from there started to reach the grass and pick up and eat leaves, pincones etc.
Today I took her outside to take a few pictures because the lighting was better outside. I still had to deal with sunlight, shadows and Amy constantly looking down at the grass instead of up at the camera. Oh well, I think I caught a few cute ones. She sure is growing up so fast! I can't believe that she's only a couple weeks away from turing one!

Amy is Crawling
Well the news today is that Amy is finally crawling. She's been scooting on her tummy for a few weeks and occasionally uses her knees and feet to help her go the extra inch or so that she needs to reach something, but no real crawling. That is, until today! I noticed this morning before church that she was crawling in the bathtub on her hands and knees and since she only went a little ways and was in water, I didn't think it counted much, but sure enough this afternoon she crawled a good six feet or so and her tummy didn't touch the floor once. I was videotaping her at the time becuase she was doing something cute with her toys and little did I know that I would be videotaping her crawling! Amy is only a few weeks away from turning one, so she took her time learning this skill!
I took Amy out on the grass to hopefully get a few more pictures of her in better light. It was so funny to see her sitting on the grass, she did not like the texture of the rough grass. Once she got used to it, she immediately went to picking up grass and leaves that she could find and then tried to eat them!
