Weekend at the Beach

It's Spring Break and although we are saving up our vacation leave for this summer, we still decided that we needed a family excursion and "break" from the routine. A friend of ours was very very generous and let us use her condo on Navarre Beach for Friday and Saturday night for free. We gladly accepted on the condition that she let us pay for the cleaning fee at least.
The condo is wonderful! On the ground floor, we can see the pool from the windows of our condo. The water is still rather cold, but there are nice bbq grills there which we plan on using while we're here. Seth took Friday off from work to get the kids ready and run a few last minute errands. Cara went to work as she had some important meetings to run in the morning. We were both coming from different directions, Cara from Pensacola and Seth from Crestview, but both ended up meeting at the condo within 5minutes of eachother. What timing! Our mini-vacation started at 1PM on Friday. We unloaded the car and immediately got dressed for the beach and headed out about 2PM.

We had a nice 2hr stay at the beach where the wind was cool but sun was shining so it was very very nice.

The water was still very cold, but it didn't stop the boys from getting in it!

Later that evening we came back to the condo and put the showers and bathtubs to work! We got dressed up and went out to eat at a nice local restaurant.
We took the scenic route and had a beautiful view of the sunset!

What a perfect first day!

NO is just a small word

Charles said something the other day that made me laugh. He came up to me and in a very serious yet sweet voice, said: "Mommy, No is not a very big word...it's just a "N" and an "O""
He's just learning how to spell, and I guess his logic here is that surely such a small word such as "NO" could not possibly have such a huge impact on his life (i.e.: NO cookies, NO staying up past bedtime etc.) Wow...

Haircuts

Well, it took all week but I finally got the camera out and tried to take a picture of the boys with their new haircuts. Hmm...Charles and Ryan don't like to hold still for long, so half of the pictures were blurry or involved one of the kids poking the other etc. I found a few respectable ones.

Sometimes their hugs still look like they are half strangling eachother. :-)

Doesn't Charles remind you of daddy when he was little? If his haircut was even shorter and slightly redder, they'd look like twins! I think it's the freckles, and maybe the eyes or shape of face. Not really sure.
