Yes, our little Charles is growing so fast! We went to his Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) graduation ceremony this evening. Charles did so well! He was smiling from ear to ear.
Miss Paula, the Assistant Director, is one of our neighbors and is the one calling out the names. Charles teacher, Miss Stephanie is the one handing out the diplomas. She is going to have a baby in the next month. Charles' other teacher, Ms. April is the one who hugs him right before he sits back down. All of the kids answered the question "What would you like to be when you grow up" and those responses were given along with their diplomas. I think you can hear it in the video, but if you can not, Charles said he wanted to be a "Daddy". Yay for me, as daddy implies a least one grandkid! Seth was beaming with pride and tried to rub it in, but I told him that I couldn't feel all that jealous as I'm quite glad that he didn't say he wanted to be a mommy. :-)
Charles will start kindergarten on August 24th as he'll turn 5yrs old on August 29th, just before the Sept. 1st cut-off.

Cara that is so cute! I can't believe they have robes and everything for preschool graduation. Congratulations to both Charles and his parents, but don't expect a card or gift. I'm glad to hear Charles will be starting kindergarten in the fall. It's perfect that his birthday is just before the cut-off. Patrick started early. His birthday wasn't until November, but they let his start early. It was the right decision for him. He would have been bored waiting another year. From what I've heard of Charles I'm sure he'll do well in school.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely the cutest thing I've ever seen! Love the fact that Charles is wearing a shirt and tie...I noticed the other kids weren't quite as nicely dress. The shirt and tie really add to the robes. Charles seems so proud of himself! That's awesome!:-)
ReplyDeleteI think this whole graduation thing is ridiculous, but very cute!
